aligners

Clear aligners are a treatment alternative to traditional braces. In some cases, aligners can be just as efficient as braces. However, there are some complex orthodontic cases that are more efficiently treated with braces.

Orthodontic treatment should always begin with a thorough exam and diagnosis by a Board Certified Orthodontist. If appropriate, aligner therapy then begins with a digital camera scan of your teeth. Then, your orthodontist carefully plans your case and dictates tooth movement to an aligner manufacturer. A series of aligners is then manufactured and delivered to you by your doctor.

The advantages of aligner therapy include esthetics, social acceptance, lack of breaking brackets or poky wires, and ease of brushing and flossing. However, just like braces, aligners must be worn full-time in order to achieve the desired tooth movements.
